I’m a woman used to the attention of lots of men. Most of the time, I’m pretty selective. I’ve met a guy who looks familiar. He stands out from the rest and has captured my interest.

He said on his dating profile that he wants to take things slowly and he only replies to my messages very briefly, once or twice a week. I don’t mind if he takes things slowly, I’m just genuinely not used to men not rushing things or throwing themselves at me. so I’m asking genuinely if he’s really interested, as I’ve never seen this approach before and I don’t want to blow things with this guy, as it’s so rare for me to be interested romantically in men.

Of cource you want to have your pick and settle down with the best guy for you... Fair enough.

But in that frame work you played out we are essentially replaceable objects... So why would he want to be that to you?

How have / are you demonstrating that's not the case.

If you were to show this to him, you would probably start to get more of a response.

He's probably just got you figured out, your 36, chances are you've been with loads of guys, he may be talking to somone who he gauges is more likely to be a better long term fit.

I mean, you may not be... And it's certainly not fair on you that I'm making that assumption... But that's the assumption I'm making to myself until I'm better informed... So maybe find a way to "better inform" him so he isn't automatically wrighting you off.

I guess several ways.

It's hard when your only chatting over text / message.

If you have a low body count for your age, then use this to your advantage, be proactive and ask him a question like "does body count mater to you?, mines quite low for my age, would you like to know?" or work it into a conversation better than that, but you ge the point.

Dismiss / don't mention other intrested party's or male attention.

Then, don't actively have contacts / accounts or DMs that allow this. Idealy no social media, but the ones you do have, limit the accounts to non public and keep your inbox tidey, any DMs, just bin them off and delete, your not intrested in anyone ells, you don't "see" anyone but him.

Keep check of your social circle, you got any guy mates? They actualy your mates, or just friend zone or options... Anyone who's is not a genuine friend whom wouldn't touch you with a barge pole of your were theast woman on earth, then bin them off... They were never your mates anyway lol.

There more, but this dosent need to be effective immediately, although that's what I would be looking for in a potential partner, somone who has all this in check to one degree or another and is willing to acknowledge that etc.

He needs to be the "one you found without looking" and was meant for you, apposed to a choice out of a bunch of options, that you can scrap off if he dosent fit your criteria.
