Old colleague (male) unfollowed me?

We worked together ~6yrs ago and he asked to follow me after he left the company. He is very active on social with curated photos and stories. Admittedly the guy had interested in me when we worked together tried to make some advances and after the IG add he did reply a story (which I replied but he didn’t say anything further and he never tried again so I didn’t think much). Pretty sure he has been single all the years (I’ve never posted any guys on my social media personal preference, only things I want to share food, friends, travel pics etc) but I noticed he unfollowed me a few months back- but he follows a few other coworkers (including 2 other women I follow who are both married and also active on IG). He also kept me as a follower which was even more annoying. I couldn’t care less about the guy but What gives? I mean after all these years what happened lol it was so unwarranted.

Hmm, that is kinda weird that your old co-worker unfollowed you on Instagram after all this time. Especially since he's still following some of your other former co-workers.

It's tough to know for sure what his reasoning is, but a few things come to mind:

1. Maybe he's just trying to clean up his follower/following list and be more selective about who he keeps up with. Some people like to have a more curated IG feed, so he could have just decided to unfollow you for that reason.

2. If he had shown interest in you back when you worked together, it's possible he's trying to create some distance now. Seeing your posts all the time could be uncomfortable for him if he's moved on or is in a new relationship.

3. There's also a chance he could be upset about something - maybe he saw a post of yours that rubbed him the wrong way or he felt you were ignoring him. Guys can be petty like that sometimes.

Honestly, it's probably not worth overthinking too much. You said you don't really care about this guy, so try not to let it get to you. He's the one who made the choice to unfollow, not the other way around.

The best thing to do is just let it go. Don't try to analyze it or reach out to him about it. If he was interested in you before and is now keeping his distance, that's his issue to deal with, not yours.

Focus on the people in your life who truly matter. This guy's social media habits shouldn't be taking up any of your mental energy. Just keep doing your thing, girl! He's the one missing out on your awesome posts.

I hate that shit too when people unfollow you and don't make you unfollow them too. Like okay celebrity

As to answer your question. I mean perhaps he just didn't think you were into him and so he gave up?

Perhaps you just weren't as close as a friend as he is with the other
