I asked the guy i like would he be up for company when he gets off and he said “i should be getting off in a few minutes” how do i interpret his response

I would say it's a yes. He told you when he was getting off.

I've seen that in movies when a guy asks a waitress if she would like to get a drink or something later and she simply replies "I get off in an hour."
