Why did he abruptly decide to end it all?

I was talking to this guy on instagram. We went to church together back in another country and he was dating my ex classmate. We never spoke until recently. he's a year younger to me. Im 20. We started talking so much. Day and night. He was out of country and then when he came back he came to visit me the very next day. We had a lot in common and we had some flirting. We had a lot of fun. We ended up having sex on the first nighr we met while drunk and the next week i went there we had sex again (i may have pushwd it being hormonal cause didn't have condoms and hw ended up ordering it). Even the next day he spoke to me all day. We had a havit to facetime all day and sleep on call even if we didn't talk. I don't know what happened but 2 days back he started acting weird. Uptil now we never had an issue and he was even talking about me sleeping over and us clubbing this weekend and going to have fun so I don't know what went wrong. He asked me why i was so quiet last evening so i told him my moods off and now suddenly he told me he doesn't wanna so this anymore and we can't stay friends cause even tho im a great person this isn't what he needs. It coincentally happens to be around a year since his ex cheated on him so I don't know if he's affected by that. I just want to know what happenwd and why this change. I feel his friends influenced him cause we didn't havw the best of bonding. I couldnt sleep last night and I've woken up with crazy anxiwty. I wanna text him and ask him properly whats going on
