Do some guys use women for food?

I know some women date purely for the free food and drinks from dates. But lately i have seen several posts and videos talking about men who lead women on just for free food. Is that a real thing? How can you tell when a man is genuinely interested, and not using you?

The man in question does seem to genuinely care, but i have been misled before. He is going through hard times and has his own place he rents with his brother but stays days to weeks at a time at my place. I enjoy the company. We have been friends for years, but I admittedly have developed very strong feelings. When i admitted them to him, he said he just isn't in a position to date anyone right now. We sleep next to each other, but have never had sex. He jokes about it but nothing happens. Im trying to be understanding. But he seems to enjoy having me cook, give massages, clean, do laundry, etc for him, offering to help, but its been months and i just wonder if there is any hope of things progressing or if i just need to accept this is all that will ever be. But if that is the case, is it a matter of him using me or enjoying platonic company?

A lot of people date for free food, drinks, perks, etc. Especially women. There’s numerous videos online of women who set up their weekly dating schedule to get free meals, usually dinner. So they rotate through numerous men who are dumb enough to get caught up in this. I’d say chances are he’s interested in you if he’s willing to do the leg work of the relationship. That means taking you out, paying for dinner, picking you up, planning the dates, etc. That’s not always 100% true though. some men may do that to get you to spread your legs for them. Relationships are always transactional. There’s no such thing as unconditional love. A lot of women will say they love a man unconditionally. No they don’t. Certain co Dior s had to be met for him to be w her. Whether that was him being cute, having money, status, having a job, a house, being ambitious. No such thing as Unicode Tina love other than maybe of that between a parent and their child up to a certain age. Some parents will disown their own kids even at birth.
i think if your case it’s best to have him go back to his brothers. He doesn’t want a relationship right now but is certainly living like one. At the same time it’s giving you false hope, making your feelings stronger for him by him staying there. I’m thinking yes he might be using you. Nothing sexual has ever happened? Blowjobs? Anal? I have to specify cause some women will say a blowjob isn’t sex. Which yes it is t as far as P into V, but it’s still a sexual act.
