True intentions?

I’ve been talking to a guy at work. We are both married and not happy. We both have kids so it’s messy. We haven’t done anything yet just been talking and flirting for weeks. There is a lot of sexual tension. I am not sure his true intentions just sex or is he looking for a relationship. He has hinted both ways. Said stuff about our future but said that he wants to go there with me right away. Deep down I know I want the relationship I think and I’m invested in this guy. There’s feelings. At some point I asked him what his end goal was. He said he wasn’t following and I said serious or not serious and he said semi serious. What the heck does that mean?

There are just so many things wrong with this situation that I dont know where to even begin. Let's start with the easy one. Don't date or even think about, flirt or otherwise engage romantically with a coworker. It is the absolute worst idea. Let us forget for a moment that you would both be cheating and look at the work aspect. What happens when you have that first big blowup and have to face each other at work? Even worse what happens if it is a nasty breakup and you can't stand the sight of him? Are you going to quit? Because there is no guarantee he will. Then if you are willing how are you going to explain this to your husband? "Had a nasty breakup with my boyfriend"? Do you see the problems here or not?

My husband is abusive and an alcoholic. I’ve been faithful with him since we met in high school. I’d leave if it weren’t for the safety of my child. Unfortunately in the state I live the law doesn’t protect my child. I’ve consulted attorneys to try to get custody and unfortunately if I leave he will get 50% custody. His is complicated too without going into details. So there’s more to the story….

Risky having a work relationship. Both being unhappy but perhaps the reasons you're unhappy are the thoughts that the grass is greener on the other side. But it's still grass and not a garden that YOU'RE meant to be nurturing.

Consider your current relationship and whether it's really worth digging up and leaving to regrow perhaps as there's kids and a partner you're emotionally cheating on here.
