Why would he do this and leave me frustrated 😂😩?

Context: Me (35F) Basically have been flirting with this guy friend (41M) I’ve known for a few years now. We’ve only ever been friends with a crush for each other. But nothing ever progressed and we only ever hung out with no physical intimacy (like doing dinners, drinks, and my go to arm candy to certain events). naturally over this last year or two the tone has changed into something more intimate. So today I took the day off from work. Originally last night, him and I were going to have long night of fun (dinner, drinks, and being physically intimate in bed for the first time). To my disappointment plan died due to unexpected chaos at work. I was sad, but told him that him resting from a night of no sleep is better. However, he insisted on showing up so He did show up super early this morning before heading into the office. It was incredibly natural and comfortable in bed together (even though this was the first time). Passionate kissing that was nonstop, eye contact the entire time, he made sure I was pleasured multiple times with his hands. throughout all of that he would just randomly smile and chuckle, and when asked why, he would just say nothing. At One point he said he’s too turned on too quickly, and then at another point said he’s holding off on going all the way so I’d come back for more. It ended with me getting him off with my hands which only mins. I enjoyed every minute of it. But why in the world would he put off the final deed (when I know he’s been telling me about his dreams and fantasies with me). Now I’m so frustrated 😂. I had such high hopes too 😩😩😩
