Guys, why was he so upset?

My friends with benefits and myself have had a bit of a tiff and I’m confused as to where he’s at and why he reacted the way he did. So we chat everyday and he calls me every evening too - today he was in a bit of a mood and I said ‘you didn’t have to ring me if you didn’t want to’ his reply was ‘I know how you get’ as I have asked him a few times lately if everything’s ok as he’s been super busy with work so not talking as frequently through the day.. I responded with ‘OK let’s not talk then if that’s how you feel’ he hung up, sent me a voice note saying he thinks I say things in jest but actually mean them and was almost in tears 🙄 why would anything I say to someone that only wants me for sex upset him?

Damn, you guys talk every day as FWBs? I talk to mine maybe once a week lol. Sounds like he may have gotten a little too comfortable with you. Not the kind of relationship he should be seeking validation from. Might be best to put some distance. If he's caught feelings for you, the ball's in your court on whether you want to take it further or not.

If he is so upset over your comment, he must have some feelings for you despite what he says. I suggest not replying to him to see what he does next. If he does get back to you, consider having a serious talk with him to discuss your relationship.
