Was it rude of me to leave these guys of read?

I'm not good with this kind of stuff, I was never considered cool growing up and I'm not used to socialising with people my own age until I moved away.

I moved in with my now husband after covid and everyone at work and in the local area we're all so friendly and kind compared to were I grew up. I quickly made friends and became very popular amongst the locals.

My husband is 32 and I literally just turned 27 yesterday, I moved out at 23 and got married last year at 26. I've matured a lot quicker compared to others my age in the UK at least.

Anyways I got invited to see a local band with some friends. This band is very big on social media right now but I didn't really know much about them. There music was really good for a local band and I really enjoyed myself. Me and my girlfriends are probably considered cute so we are very feminine but I'm not used to male attention and don't seek it either as I'm married. The band came and sat with us and chatted, even bought a road of drinks for us after there show. I didn't think much of it and just thought my friends had pulled.

I get on with lads and can have a good laugh with them. Obviously being married I wasn't interested was was just myself and kept having banter with everyone.

Next morning I wake up and I've received a message from the insta account of the band just saying thank you for coming to see them and they asked me a bunch of questions about why I came to the show and what music I liked. I just thought it was for business but thought I'd be nice and respone. They kept messaging me more questions not even sure which guy it is but I started getting a bit weirded out. They were all innocent messages but I'm sure they've had plenty of females come see them play before why do care so much, I got creeped out as I'd only briefly spoken to them once and I think it was just a little joke and a hello, thanks for the drinks and good bye nothing went off. I've just ghosted them now

No you did the correct thing. Looking at it from a guys prospective if I went to see a band and they messaged me ONCE after seeing them I too might answer a few basic questions but that would be it. They are more than likely looking for more and you are not. So break it off before it gets you in trouble you don’t need

Situations like that are always a bit weird. I think you're probably fine in this case.

On one hand, it IS rude to randomly leave someone on read, but on the other, you were being forced into a conversation with a stranger that you didn't really want to have.
