I was once that exact guy. A girl annoyed me so much to ask me if she wants to date me. Of course, the blockhead that I was, rejected her. Though given I was always tired of daily practice due to me being an student athlete.

But the thing is, it might work. She managed to talk to me a ton of times everyday. Even considered it so many times, but I never had the time for a relationship.

Just try going headfirst. Just convey you like him. Nothing wrong saying what you mean. Better than letting those feelings bottled up after all. You're friends are already teasing you anyway, nothing wrong proving then right.
