Why has my guy friend been acting distant?

I have a guy friend that has been acting a little weird since he found out I have a boyfriend. He started taking forever to reply to my texts and he has also removed himself from my close friends list on instagram. Does this mean he has feelings for me, that he's simply setting boundaries in our friendship, or something else? Please let me know
