How long would you wait to reach out to a girl if you aren’t sure about her feelings?

I recently had a meet cute with this guy, whom I met at work. It felt very serendipitous because it came out of nowhere, and how we met felt dated. but we were at work so I was still in the work zone and didn’t really go full on flirting with the guy. But we did click and have good conversation.

the remainder of the day, I did catch him looking at me anytime we passed or in the same room, he was always super helpful toward me and made sure to say bye to me when I was leaving. (Even did the whole random high fives or touch my arm when chatting) I asked for his Instagram so we do follow each other.

but here’s the thing; my friends have told me I’m very hard to read when I like someone. I can be hesitant or not too forward when someone is showing interest so I can sometimes make a guy unsure on my feelings. I always worry I might have given him the wrong impression.

But I’m curious if that would stop a guy from reaching out? If a guy is curious about you or felt something, would he reach out? Would he wait for a right time to do so like me posting something to reply to and create convo, or would he take a moment to gain the courage to DM you? Or would a guy do nothing about it and let it be. Lol

I could be totally wrong about this guy, but I feel like he felt it too that there was a tiny spark or interest between us.

Flirting is a two way conversation. I'm not saying he won't reach out. But why are you waiting for him to reach out?

It's not just a matter of waiting for him to make a move. You can make a move.

If you like him, it's silly to sit there hoping he'll reach out. Send him a message, comment on something. You don't have to ask him out (at this point). You should reach out though.

He is hesitant to reach out for the same exact reason you are. One of you has to.

Especially at work now, guys need to be cautious. It is also hard to tell if a girl is just friendly or might be interested in you as you are in her.

In short it is a risk assessment. At work high consequences if the girl doesn't appreciate being asked out. At my local cafe moderate consequences but I can moderate that to zero. At a different cafe or bar few consequences.

For high consequences I'll play it safe.

I had a similar situation back a few months ago and it fizzled out shortly after the guy seemed to indicate he liked me and wanted us to be a thing. He suddenly backed off without a word, possibly bc he didn't realize I felt the same way, or possibly bc he was just playing games to see if he could get me to feel a certain way about him.

Don't worry too much about the "meet cute" -- those are terms for a movie, not for real life.

I think it could cause a guy to be hesitant to reach out if you're hard to read. Maybe keep encouraging him when you are interacting? Even just a small praise for the help or something you noticed that is positive about him.

Yes it would be something to hinder a guys interest to make further moves. MAKE your interest clear otherwise he's always second guessing your behaviour.
