I can’t stand not being honest so I live honestly. I even have a hard time hiding a surprise party. I guess I find lying to be exhausting because you’d have to keep track of all the lies, wouldn’t you feel scared of getting find out eventually? Wouldn’t you feel scared of slipping up? I just don’t feel like that’s a way to live

You are doing what all women do, which is attaching your POV to male problems. in my opinion one of the difficult things for women to comprehend, is that men risk losing the women by telling her the truth. Since men typically have to invest first and more, they have to weigh that ris against the investment. You mentioned being "scared of slipping up" No, because men understand that it's much more effective to tell women comforting lies vs telling them the truth. If they didn't things like the makeup industry, plastic surgery and romance novels wouldt exsist. Even this conversation proves that, as you are not even disclosing the real reason womem want men to tell them the truth.

I disagree, I hate liars but I’m very understanding. I always expect transparency and honesty from the guys I date. I had an ex who lied to me for the past 3 years, I was only angry at him for the fact that he lied. If he were honest from the very beginning, I would definitely still give him a chance even though it would piss me off, but I’ll move on and accept the truth. Truths are much better no matter how painful than comforting lies.

Don't be a jerk though, if the dress made her look far it is the truth, just tell her that dress would make everyone look fat, it is the specialty of it's design, giving the illusion of fullness, if she doesn't want it it is not the dress she should be looking for.

Girl wants to be praised or be told a white lie to feel good about herself
Saying what she wants to hear is being a people pleaser because you are doing what she pleases.
Telling her the truth will most likely feel bad for her but this is the truth and you are sticking to it and not conform to her wishes, it can be better for her to be truthful but it is not what she wants so it is not pleasing her.
