Why is he teasing me? Is there something I'm missing?

Okay, so I am a 19-year-old freshman in college. I am new this semester, and I have a class with this guy my age. I think he's cute, but at the time, I had a long-distance boyfriend (he cheated, so not anymore). But over the past month or so, this kid has gotten very talkative and almost cocky (but like in a nice teasing way). He'll talk to me after class from across the room, and we'll be in there for an hour or 20 minutes, around the rest of my friends. He's made comments about my haircut, or how sometimes I shop online in class. I've told him to shut it as a joke and gotten the response of "Oh really, and what are you gonna do about it?" He even told me I should come work with him. He doesn't seem to make any comments to any other girls in my class like that... Am I missing something? Does he like me? Or is he just flirting to flirt?

It sounds like he likes you but be direct people can loose interest just as fast as they gained it. So be direct about your feelings for him. Last thing you want to do is waste your time on someone whose not even that into you.

Rejection sucks but you’ll have closure and not waste your time. If someone’s a dick about rejecting you then you dodged a bullet even as a friend. But some people just misread things and will fall in love with someone who has no romantic feelings in return. Maybe they are being polite or maybe they genuinely like someone as a friend.

It happens too where someone is interested but someone waits too long until all the sudden they have a girlfriend (or for men a she has a boyfriend) and people just sit there and wonder what happened. The truth is someone else probably caught their eye or even directly made a move in some cases.

I think he's flirting but he's not trying hard enough, I don't recommend you to make the first move but just indirectly give him the opportunity to ask you out, like ask for his social media or give him your number, if he really wanted you he should show deeper interest
