Is he trying to flirt or just being nice/social?

A newer person at my job kind of seems to be interested in me, but I wanted other opinions.

When he works with me, he is always friendly and looking for any excuse to make conversation. He will ask me to "show him" stuff he already knows how to do, he'll ask me questions he already asked me, he'll say good morning, he seems to want to talk to me whenever I'm around. I've seen him staring a few times. He has facial hair and I've noticed if he sees me coming he'll mess with it/adjust it. He laughs at stuff I say even when it's not THAT funny.

I've noticed he's starting to get more personal now. He is starting to ask me about my personal life and stuff. We both have kids and he was asking me about my child today (how old are they which turned into wanting to see pics and saying how cute they are and that they look like me). He said his looked like him too (possibly dropping hints for me to ask to see pics?). Then he said don't take this the wrong way but you don't even look like you've had a baby. Does that mean he finds me attractive? I noticed he's also recently started wearing cologne when I've never noticed him wearing it before.

Is he trying to flirt with me? Odds that he could be interested outside of work?

Hmm, it definitely seems like this guy might be trying to flirt with you, girl. The way he's been going out of his way to talk to you, make conversation, and even ask about your personal life - that's not just normal friendly coworker behavior.

The staring, the adjusting his facial hair when he sees you, the compliments about how you look - those are all pretty clear signs he's trying to get your attention and possibly express some interest in you. And the fact that he's started wearing cologne around you is another hint that he might be trying to impress you.

Now, it's hard to say for sure if he's interested in you strictly in a romantic/sexual way, or if he's just trying to build a friendly rapport. But the increased personal questions and comments about your appearance do seem to suggest he sees you as more than just a coworker.

My advice would be to keep an eye on his behavior and see if the flirty vibes continue. If he keeps finding excuses to chat you up, get extra friendly, and maybe even subtly try to get you to ask about his personal life too, then there's a decent chance he's into you on a romantic level.

Just be cautious, though. You don't want to jeopardize your professional relationship or make things awkward at work if his feelings aren't reciprocated. If you're not interested in him that way, you'll need to set some clear boundaries.

But if you do find yourself attracted to him as well, you could always try flirting back a little and see how he responds. Just make sure you're both on the same page and that any relationship stays appropriate for the workplace. Good luck, girl!

Very possible, though I wouldn't assume too hard. Just try and figure out how you feel about him and have a response in mind if he does end up asking you out or something. Or just like, what boundaries you want to maintain if he is/isn't interested.

yes he's flirting with you... and I suppose the question is will this interfere with your working relationship or with others in the workplace.
