We are in the second year of college. I had a chat with a boy the other day but it was very friendly way, just a casual chat. And we are not alone. We were like a group of 5 people. He sent a friend request on instagram the next day. When I asked my friends, they said "accept it, maybe he sent a friendly request." Because he was following almost everyone. He sent me messages the day after we started following but we didn't get that far with the messages. The messages he sent me seemed weird, they make me feel cringe but I didn't care it too much. Today we ran into each other on campus and he pretended not to know me. I don't understand what his purpose was. Whether we are friends or lovers, why wouldn't you say hello to someone you texted on Instagram?

i think he is maybe trying to manipulate you, you know those tiktok dark psychology hacks probably made by 15 years olds, it's like he's trying to play hot and cold, give you attention then ignore you so he could get into your mind and you would want his validation

Actually, he liked me, but my messages on Instagram came across as harsh and cold to him. He found me weird. But the reason I text to him like this was because I felt like the entire faculty was reading our messages.
