There has been a lot of psychological research on this. It's really about how the new person makes them feel about themselves. True for female and male. this new person makes them feel wanted, desired, or special in a way that their spouse never seems to anymore. It's never about how hot they are. That's why so many of the cheating relationships fall apart when there is a divorce. They weren't really finding their. new love. They were getting a emotional need met. That said my ex cheated on me about 10 years ago we've been divorced 8 and she is marrying him this year. So it can develop into a deeper mutual relationship. But that is not typically why people cheat.

This is fucked up. There's no excuse to cheat. If someone is in a loveless marriage, they need to end that marriage before seeking someone else. That's all there is to it. It's wrong to do anything else. The lovelessness in a marriage is not an excuse to cheat. It's a reason to get a divorce.
