Need an honest outside perspective: am I overreacting or finally seeing things clearly?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 2.5 years. We had a recent fight over something small (splitting cost of beer), and he taunted me saying, “This is why I don’t take you anywhere to hang around” I got visibly upset and cried, but instead of comforting me, he packed his stuff after a while, banged things around, shouted at me and left. he also said things like, “You haven’t seen my anger yet, and it’s bad,” . Later, I found out he went to a friend’s place to drink and smoke. It also felt like he was about to hit me in a moment. He barged out saying he cannot stay in the negative environment i had created.
This isn’t the first time—whenever I’m at my lowest, he either shuts down, leaves, or blames me entirely. At work the next day, he didn’t even talk to me properly, just casually asked if I’d eaten as if nothing happened.
I’m feeling really mentally drained. Am I being too sensitive or is this a red flag I shouldn’t ignore?
