What do you think when new couples showcase their love on social media? Is it true or a performance?

I mean if you’re a new couple and you haven’t posted before, but suddenly 6 months in your showcasing everything, regularly (weekly) does this mean they are really in love or means to prove they’re solid or insecurity. What does it really mean? If a girl regularly posts her boyfriend and then he reciprocates that is it out of love or feeling the need to oblige?

I’ve been with my husband for over 5 years and we rarely post each other, I think we are more private, but still I don’t need to convince the world we are all good. Thoughts?

I agree about it being showy. In the first stages, couples bonding can’t get enough of each other. So I don't know how they’d even have time to be posting photos and getting all the “angles” 📐 and shots, and then uploading with captions too. That’s crazy work!

Also, when couples are genuine, I personally think they’d not want to share their partner with the whole world, 🌎 so close couples would want to keep their relationship as ‘reserved and private.’

Something to protect, so if they’re not genuine. It’s not going to have protective/ guarding undertones... And if that’s not present, then it just doesn’t seem believable for me.

Many times, those on socials don’t always capture things in live time. It’s more a place to capture and display perfection…

Social media is a one type of lens.

We can all, only view others and the version of ourselves we put out, through the lens of perfection.

So most of the time, it’s always warped and unreal. The fact they’d go out of their way to post something unreal about their life or show their “prize partner” to everyone, seems more so looking for attention and validation, and maybe even pushing that to the front of the line cause they’re either insecure deep down, about themselves, or they are spoiled/self-centered. One of the two, or both, even.

It would be rare if it were actually a couple posting, to sort of document their “love journey,” or simply sharing something they think worth celebrating, or reaching a milestone, or getting a good thing in their life, like a puppy. Cause all of that which is being documented, is for the most part, edited/touched up, glammed with filters. Etc etc. quality photos and content of this thing of “perfection,” they dish out. Feels unreal.

I just think earlier on, in a blooming relationship, and especially if they’re not frequent “posters,” or social media addicts, posting couple photos. I think it’s a bit facetious. I don’t buy it. If I had seen it, I’d pity them, with equal amounts of nausea, and then go on with my own life.

It’s mostly a performance and it usually means that relationship more than likely won’t make it the long haul because when 2 people are in love , they don’t give 2 shits about what other people think or say , they don’t need to advertise their relationship to everyone , Social media shouldn’t mean shit to 2 people that are in love with each other. Now every once in awhile it’s ok to post a picture of you and your partner , but if you are doing it constantly
, then that’s unfortunately a red flag , that you are trying to convince yourself and everyone else that you are happy in your relationship , when really you aren’t, Couples that are happy in their relationships don’t showcase their relationship like crazy because
They don’t care what other people think or say about them , they both are living content peaceful lives in love together. Now if a partner is never posting pictures of their partner then that’s can be a red flag as well , that they are keeping their options open and they don’t want other people knowing they are in a relationship, which sadly I witnessed a lot of with other couples to find out one ofThem was cheating on the other. I knew a wife that pretended she was happy on her marriage when really she wasn’t , Her husband planned a trip for them and their 2 Kids’ to go to Disney World, I was friends’ with her husband as well , The whole time they were in Disney , she didn’t post one picture of her husband that paid for the whole trip which i

Kids’ and you wouldn’t even know her husband was even there with her , When they got back from their trip , I called him asking him if was in Disney because your wife didn’t post one single picture of you , He then said can we meet up for a drink , I said sure and he confessed to me she was cheating on him and that he is divorcing her. I felt so bad for him and I immediately lost all respect for his wife , because he was the nicest guy with the biggest heart , she was just a selfish whore , he was devastated and I told him he deserves way better than that shit , A few weeks later I ran into her at a bar surrounded by a bunch of thirsty guys’ the second she saw me she was being friendly with me , and told me she just fell out of love with her husband and didn’t want to be tied down to him anymore , I said I’m sorry to hear that while I was thinking she is just a selfish whore , she eventually disappeared because so many people didn’t like her after the shit she pulled , so she must of moved somewhere else , as for her ex husband he eventually met a great girl and is happy as ever. When I ran into him , I said to him losing her was probably the best thing that could happen for you because I can tell you are happy as shit now and you have a girl that is happy as well to be with you

Very cringe. In my opinion the best sign that a relationship is thriving is no sign of it on social media. I deleted social media a year ago and been with my partner close to three years, I never posted him not even once. I do not keep my relationship a secret, everyone knows I'm in a committed relationship but most people don't know who he is or seen him. Main reason is because my relationship is very private and sacred to me and I don't want outside people interfering, also by posting your partner people get naturally curious and tend to check them or look for their page and I don't want other women checking him, sending him requests, potentially sliding in his DMs.

Personally I kinda like how you think of it ,
I'd describe the alternative as insecurity , it's never been initiated by myself but I've had others do it , and this adds to the drama if you split.
I'd adore a wife who was less involved in all that sht.

I try not to think about other peoples relationships in general. We truly will never know what’s going on behind closed doors unless we have inside access and 9/10 we don’t, we are just people looking at pictures and drawing conclusions. I never want to be that invested in another couple’s situation or so nosey for answers that I make up my own.
