Men + Women Friends? ❌ Animal friends ✅ Guy friends ✅?

It’s not for all. But for the guys who think they can’t befriend women. Sometimes for: not being dependable/reliable/ an extra responsibility/weight. Etc.

How does this explain the logic of some men having pets? We see that men enjoy the comedic benefits of pets, the sometimes active lifestyles regarding pets, and of course the presence or companionship of pets.

So why would a guy be open to the idea of a pet or multiple pets. “Friendships” if you will- with pets. But never a friendship with a lady?

Why have pets. But would maybe say he and women or a specific woman- “could never be friends.”

Or even for the guys who believe the “friend zone,” is the worst fate possible, to be ever bestowed on a guy. Why?

I don’t see how the logic works or remains consistent.

Why does the term “friend zone,” only get used with women and it’s usually a negative tone?

Yet we see also phrases like “man’s best friend” when having a k-9 pal, or “bros for life.” Why the feeling of atrocity towards female friendships?

People or men specifically have always in their entire existence have had pets for many reasons but romance and sex have never been the reasons. We have pets for companionship, security, presence, empathy and what not. As long as we are mentally healthy, we never get romantic or sexual feelings from them. We may get parental feeling, but that doesn't mess things up.

In case of women, the primal feelings of men have always been to impregnate them. After we have developed as a civilization, we have incorporated the concept of morality and control that unlocked the relationship of friendship between the two sexes. Note that it's a concious choice and not subconscious choice. Every female friend is a sexual candidate if the morals, circumstances and/or the dynamics change. While in case of pets, such feelings are non-existent to begin with.

When some men say that they cannot be friends with a woman, it means that they acknowledge the fact that they cannot control their subconscious mind. Their primal desires will prevail over their morality.

Friendzone is seen in a negative tone because in such relationships, only the woman wants to be friends. The man did not choose to a friend. It's not a mutual agreement.

The term "man's best friend" is not used correctly here. It's not that a pet can be a man's and a woman cannot. It's talking about human beings as a whole because they have ulterior motives. Pets are faithful. They are real. Not only a human can and often decieve you, that human being a woman will challenge your primal desires and control at your morality and values.

I will accept the part where you had specifically said the guys cannot deny their subconscious or primal ways of thinking. But even on that note it’s sad because it seems uncivilized and it takes away from the fact we’re supposed to be evolved.

More critical thinking and less hormonal reliance or influences.

Also I agree I never tried to imply any romantic exchange between human and pets, but exclusively highlighted on the friendship and comedic factors/values/benefits.

Maybe this is partially a distant reason why men don’t find women funny either. Maybe part of it is women trying to make their jokes logically fitted. And the other portion is that a guy can’t really laugh when he finds a lady steamy hot 😂 it’s just not going to evoke the right response.

I don’t know @YourFutureEx just seems sad friendship can’t be cultivated between the two. Not even in the case where a man already had a mating partner “ “ if you will. A life long intimate companion as a wife, or just a girlfriend. Even in the cases of friends with benefits. Even in these such scenarios males can’t extract the benefits of friendship with females. There’s more benefits than just sexuality.

And the sexuality only brings about two benefits. Offspring if desired. And momentary pleasure. Then the sexual drive for both dwindles down with age and nothing else can be extracted from it. So a whole lifetime is spent denying and avoiding other possibilities and benefits just to exploit/indulge in ONE ☝️ extremely short term and expiratory benefit. Seems not the wisest of decisions and really limited. I suppose that will just be my opinion.

Friendship between sexes is not as necessary as procreation is in the eyes of nature. The nature will try its best that we continue to survive so, there will always be something inside us, telling us not to deviate from our goal.

My opinion was oriented more towards answering your question and less towards the ground reality. There are more man-woman friendships today and there has ever been in our entire existence. It is an indicator that we really do have some control over our nature. But as I said, such friendships (some, not all) will keep on failing.

It's not as depressing as you think it is. Successful friendships do happen but we should also understand why they fail.

Personally, I have enjoyed the presence of my female friends more than I have liked my exes or sexual partners. The friends have given me way better companionship, and a lot of knowledge and information sharing. I have never felt proud of my body count, but the number of women I could on.

Also that can’t be true about ladies filtering men as a potential friend cause that wouldn’t be in alignment with primitive behavior and it wouldn’t match because she would be making prospects on something unreal as on his end the concept of friend wouldn’t be real or priority. Yes everything you shared made sense. I appreciate you answering and giving feedback on your experiences with present day friendships with opposite sexes. Our body keeps us hungry and makes us want more food even if we are getting fat and unhealthy. The nature doesn't care about your appearance. They nature wants your survival and it knows that a fat person will outlast a fit person during famine.

But it can only send you urges. That's why we keep wanting sex because nature wants us to make babies. Sexless friendships between opposite sexes are counter-intuitive. We have evolved and that's why we use contraception because we have to manage finances and population. But that doesn't stop the natural urges.

Sex isn't the only thing guys want with women because we have gotten smarter and we can make ourselves understand the importance of some women that we should not sleep with because that might ruin our career or finances. Or the woman might be usefull for other reasons like emotional support or a better social proof etc.

But if he is your friend and you are a very attractive woman and you give him a clear chance to sleep with you without any consequences, he will take the opportunity.

Because guys want sex and romance (or sometimes just sex) with women and consider the friendzone a bad thing because it usually forecloses those possibilities, at least in the short term. They don’t want sex and romance with their bros or their pets, so that’s not an issue.

1. Getting attracted to other women
2. Wanting to have sex with them
3. Being disloyal

Men are wired to inseminate a wide variety of women so that they could spread their genes as much as possible, while women are wired to filter men out in different categories like threat<creep<nobody<friend<lover<provider. And that's why it's easier for women to categorise a man into a certain category while men fundamentally only have a single category for women by nature.

And loyalty in men is a choice and not a consequence. Men do not become loyal because they now have a label or a ring on their finger. They are loyal because they have values and are a good person. And when they are, they'll be open to interacting with women as a friend.

@YourFutureEx I like how you explained it but I just slightly disagree. Is it possible then women have evolved more than men? In this time?

Because women if they TOO as humans followed mental wiring it wouldn’t include creep, provider, or friend- those are social factors. They would only consider how healthy he was for reproduction the way a man would see if she were ready for reproduction.

It would all be strictly health fertility and how attractive they were to each other according to a bit of social interaction and hormonal exchanges.

Since women don’t just look at a guy for his semen quality… and considers friendship with males, and according to this statement of yours men only see women for how fertile they can be, then this must mean in conclusion (according to the like of logic) that women are more evolved because they aren’t driven by a primal wiring or instinct as much or at all in comparison to men.

Women are still following their nature like men but no, women aren't wired the way you think they are. Women carry a baby for 9 months so unlike men, they are very selective about the men she interacts with. Which man can pose a threat to her, which man she needs to get rid of (the creep), which man can provide for her without posing a threat (beta-orbiter or better say "a friend"), which man can help her getting rid of the creep (the one with strong genes), which man will last (the provider). She has to ensure her survival so that the baby can also survive and that's why she has to categorise them, which isn't limited to the fertility

Men do not need to carry a baby inside their body and women cannot physically hurt them so, they do not need such categorisation. They are strong, free and independent because of their physical strength and lack of responsibility.

I'd imagine it is obvious. Heterosexual man + presumably heterosexual woman + propinquity = non-platonic feelings.
Not to say it is a guaranteed thing, but the odds of one or other getting a one-sided romantic interest and utterly messing up the friendship are pretty high.
And whether women realise it or not... but for a guy, being around someone they're sexually attracted to without being able to do anything about it leads to blue-balling... which is physically painful. Cripplingly so sometimes.

No it’s not a comparison it’s a list of who guys choose as friends or for friendship. Don’t say bizarre to me- say bizarre to the men who consider their pets “man’s best friend.” If you haven’t understood loyalty and dynamics between animals and humans then you’ve never seen police k-9s, bomb squad animal intel, or military animals.

Anyways the point is and your opinion served no value in shedding any insight as to why men can befriend men and animals but not women.

If men are such great people at making friends as a general concept, then being friends with women and not having the expectations of sex, should not be an issue. No it’s not a comparison it’s a list of valid examples.

Men can befriend men. Befriend lower intelligent animals. So they should be able to befriend women without any sexual implications. And the excuse of responsibility or safety isn’t a balid complaint because guys also look out for and after guys friends, younger lads, and animals that guys would consider friend-like or pet. Usually, when we are interested in a woman it's for sex. Not friendship. We get that from our male friends. We also don't want to be your emotional tampon. If we are getting something from providing emotional support then we usually tolerate the emotional tampon thing better. It'd be a bit like you giving out sex without the guy taking care of your emotional needs. This doesn't mean men and women cannot be friends but it's more rare than normal because we often don't share the same interests. And yes, there is that one special snowflake example you could pull out of your hoohoo. That does not mean it's the norm.
