Why am I never a guy’s first choice?

Men seem to always see me as a back up plan. I had this one guy beg me for a chance despite me rejecting him multiple times. When I finally gave him a chance, he never wanted to be seen in public with me and told me he only wanted to be friends with benefits, meanwhile he had been actively courting this other woman for a year.

That seems weird in general. I don’t think that guy saw you as a backup plan, more like “I wonder what I’m missing with her” / experimenting… Though also seems like a sexual thing since he just wanted to be Friends With Benefits with you, really weird.

Just move on from that asshole and don’t think all men will treat you or see you the way he did, it was a fluke. You will find someone who actually cares about you and puts in the time n effort to see how wonderful you really are. You deserve better than that.

I went through a breakup so, I don’t want to have a backup plan or date in general, gotta give myself time to heal. Would be stupid and selfish to use someone as a temporary rebound date since they want a long committed relationship, that ain’t me.
