Does anyone know how to stop puppy biting? And puppy potty training?

I was given a puppy he just turn 13 weeks but damn he got sharp ass teeth to the point he left small holes in my leg after biting nipping me. Does anyone have any tips?


And the puppy potty training. When I take him out I would even take him out for hours and when we come back in few min later he does his business. Does anyone know. How to quit that shit and to tell me when he needs to go out?

If you give the dog toys that smell like pork or meat, it could drive aggressive chewy behaviour towards humans so remove those toys and give them cute and fluffy toys instead. Young dogs respond to verbal anger and do not need to be controlled with hitting or physical punishments. I heard when you tap a dog’s nose in rebuke, its like a humiliating slap in the face for them. Do not carry them in your arms to move them when they are bad, because they process your touch as an affirming and encouraging reward for behaviours they will seek to repeat in the future.

Take him outside as soon as he wakes up from naps or eats something to a quite part of the garden.

As for biting he probably thinks he's playing, give him a tap and a sharp NO. Dogs tend to like a bit of rough and tumble but he's got to learn to bite gently. A tug toy might be handy

Dog trainers can sometimes do stuff with them, overall though it is largely something they have to grow out of.

He'll grow out of it. Get him a small Nylabone. He'll chew on that for a long time.

Say "Ouch!" And stop play. If pup behaves without teeth then give love and praise. Point it to not only correct behavior but point out what you do like. Less confusion then.

I like crate training. Pups need to be taken out after meals and before play times. If you take them out and they do not go then they go in the crate for 5 min. Then try taking them out again. Repeat until they learn to go when you ask. Tag a verbal command to each. This helps not only you.

I trained service dogs for years. One of my retired dogs had to have surgery. I neglected to tell the vet her potty commands. She was taken to the grass and would just stare at them. (This was how well trained she was) The surgeon called me up and said "She won't go potty." I laughed and told them the command. They called back so surprised. And said she thinks they are stupid. I told them, no, she thinks you are uneducated. "And say Hi to mum."

If he gets too aggressive you use a loud voice and if that doesn’t help, throw him on his back and pin him down by his neck. That’s what the parent dogs or the older dogs in a pack would do.

Every time the dog goes outside you praise it , they’ll eventually learn to go outside and when the dog looks like it might go inside you rush it outside

Give him some toys for biting, the puppy will learn eventually.
