What can I do to help my older brother going through drug withdrawal?

He’s been acting very anxious. I’m not sure if he’s still on whatever he’s on or not but what can I do?

I just want my brother back. I don’t think it’s only drugs but also work and friendships

Maybe you can call emergency services even without mentioning drugs, just say: “My friend is very sick and needs urgent help.” Or Gently suggest seeing a doctor or going to a clinic. Some drugs can have dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Or just offer Comfort like Provide food, water, blankets, and a calm environment.

He’s at the hospital now but before when he was with us it was pretty calm and our mom suggested him going to his doctor. Thank you

but he needs to go to a drug rehabilitation center until he can quit his drug addiction, depending if he can do it on his own or needs help I don’t know your brother

that’s hard-core. I didn’t talk about that. He doesn’t need to be in a mental institution just to get help for the drug usage I hope he gets out soon. That’s really horrible hearing this.

I know but apparently he was walking in the road and the police got called on him so he ended up in the ER and they thought that he needed to be evaluated so they took him to the psych

Was he in the middle of the highway with the cars? If not, there’s nothing wrong with going for a walk on the sidewalk or a park. People need to think and to clear their head walking is a good stress reliever. They can’t keep your brother for more than 3 days when your baker acted unless they find out some serious mental problems that somebody has. I suggest that you talk to your brother and tell him to be very careful what he says when they talk to him. to play it cool and don’t say anything to get himself stuck there longer. this is very important. He’s got to talk like a professional and act like he can handle himself just get him help rehab when he gets out for drug use not mental institutions. It can make things a lot worse where he loses his freedom and is around crazy people 24 hours a day you can become demoralized and this makes it really worse but there’s nothing wrong with counseling as a free man.

He was walking either on the thruway or near it. Some concerned passer Byers I guess. Ofc I would talk to him but the thing is he doesn’t have his phone, it’s lost near the thruway and they won’t allow us to speak to him because he is “mentally unstable”.

that’s a shame why doesn’t he have his phone with him? I never heard about place. thats won't allow you to speak to him. He’s gotta be very careful what he says he’s got to act cool calm and collected so he can be released instantly if he says anything weird because they’re gonna question him and ask him, does he hear voices? Is he stable. He should be very careful how he answers all the different questions

Its probably withdrawal symptoms, but try talking to him and make sure he knows you are their for him.

Unfortunately with addiction, it’s really mostly in the addicts court. He won’t get clean until HE is ready.

No, he’s usually out at night also he’s gotten really skinny due to him not eating as much
