Why do men prefer heavy make-up over natural face?

Question

Not trying to generalize here but I think most men like women better when they're wearing heavy makeup, fake lashes etc. over somebody who wears less makeup or no makeup at all, see all the girls who are popular on the social media and have bunch of men in the comments wear full face makeup and those long thick lashes, fillers and so on and some men even compare their girlfriends to them like it's all makeup? That's not even their real face but men seem to not gaf about it at all and for some reason always choose them over more natural women I just don't understand it why prefer fake over real?

My wife of 17 years doesn’t wear makeup. She used to but she knows I don’t like makeup. The same w my three brothers who have also been w their girls for quite sometime. I will say some men probably pick women like this because a number of them, hell most men don’t know about makeup. Fake eyelashes you can tell especially if they’re long as hell, but even some of us can’t tell because most men did not grow up dabbling in makeup. Other reasons why men may pick a girl who look perfect w makeup is for something simple like a one night stand, maybe even an friends with benefits situation. But most men won’t take a girl like that for marriage. No man wants to wake up to a complete stranger. The. There are some men who just like that.

There’s no evidence to support that conclusion. The vast majority of polling on the matter strongly suggests that most men believe less is more where makeup is concerned.

The guys I know will all LOOK AT the girl with the pounds and pounds of makeup on, but they'll most likely ask out the girl who is on the more natural side. My closer guy friends all love the more natural look so I've never seen them go for someone who is super fake. Having said this, there are a few who have gone for the extra sculpted brows/boobs or (alternatively) the excessively glammed up princess types who happen to be convenient to date.

But generally speaking I've never seen them take out a gal with two inch nails with chunky bits on them or eyelashes the length of a small comb or lips with enough filling for a jelly doughnut. (Sigh)

Men will always say they like natural but will spend hours every week drooling over women wearing make-up. Take all of that with a grain of salt.

women are hotter/sexier with makeup but seem more trustworthy/approachable without... for a hookup they'll always go with the girl with makeup but for a relationship they want to know she isn't ugly without it and just using makeup to "catfish"

For the same reason women prefer false bravado over quiet confidence. Not trying generalize either. But I think most women prefer a guy that will tell them exactly what they want to hear then a guy is not flashy but almost always delivers but never promises.

I like to think I prefer the more natural look. I want to love a girl on what she actually looks like. Some make up is okay, but I wouldn't want her face drenched in it everyday.
