Am I too romantic and what do I do if I read into stuff too much?

What’s it mean if you meet a guy for the first time and you see his eyes and there’s a look in them that says he thinks you’re attractive

It’s like it makes you look away. And you were in a loose winter dress so your body wasn’t showing.

I’m too much of a hopeless romantic woman, all I want and dream of day in and out is romance and being loved by a man, and sometimes I even project romance onto a guy’s abuse?

Like I will think sexual things are love or mistake guys making eye contact for love.

I have a big problem because I am a hopeless romantic woman and even when guys I’m not attracted to pursue or show interest, my romantic mind and wishes start intertwining with thoughts of him, and I may end up giving him a chance?

Based on my own development, I was qualifying for the hopeless romantic status in the first batch of relationships I've experienced, in youth. Nothing to be enthusiastic about because, as you said, this stance has unfortunate consequences. This stance means that I was not looking at people but at my imagination of who people are instead.

I wasn't romantic, in truth, I was just caught in my own imagination. In what I wanted to see, which means that people didn't exist to me. Only a picture of them I fabricated.

As EmmaMary said, this can turn into a useful skill for art, but really really not in romance, as this is not romance you're into. You're into your own world you invented, and people don't exist in it, because you fabricate them instead of looking at them. And that's your way out of imagination: Looking at people for who they really are.

Guys have a look in their eyes for a few possible reasons. They may find you very interesting and would like to get to know you or they may be having lustful thoughts. The only way to find out is to talk to them and try to get the truth out of them.

From a fellow hopeless romantic, toughen up your heart. Just because a man is nice to you, has sex with you, etc,, does NOT mean he's in love with you. Trust me. I had to learn this the hard way. Until a man explicitly says to you that he's interested in you and wants a relationship, do NOT assume anything.
