Well, maybe women are somewhat to blame. I mean it never used to be a thing. People used to try and communicate like actual human beings on dating sites... but around the time normal people who didn't need them started using them for casual hook-ups, things started to shift. Women would get pestered all the time and start closing themselves off. Men meanwhile were getting ignored all the time and started feeling more and more like investing themselves in it was a mistake... and so while the women became pickier and pickier, men were becoming more desperate and reckless...
The whole dick-pics thing is probably just that taken to its absurd conclusion. Men are effectively just lowering themselves to the lowest common denominator and putting themselves on display in the only way they expect to be judged on: penis size. It is completely stupid, obviously. Women don't care about that. If they understood women at all, they'd just share wallet pics instead.

Because they are desperate and perverted , hoping a girl would want him if she likes the size of his penis. From my understanding , most females’ don’t like Dick pics , but I can’t speak for every girl. I don’t send dick pics to a girl I don’t know anything about , especially someone off the internet, but I will send them , if she is a girl that I know personally , especially if she is my girlfriend or a girl I am dating and having sex with.. Otherwise I won’t send them. A few girls’ on here asked me for Dick pics before and I said No, and it made me wonder if they are really who they claim to be? I’m not

Men have an entire culture centered around their genitalia. Not just dick pics, but dick jokes, using their dick as a means of berating (i. e. “grow some balls and do it!”) and praise (i. e. “Way to fuck it up!”). This thing is the center of their manhood because prior to men recognizing that they are a necessary step in the reproduction process, before they knew women needed men to create life, the world was rules and operated by matriarchies. Their dick is the reason we now have patriarchy. Of course they’re going to assume, in a world now made by men for men, that you’re as obsessed with it as they are and use it as a low-effort way to prove their masculinity and sexual prowess. The one thing women still have over men is deciding which men get to mate, that deciding power still rests exclusively with women. And the men that hate that fact, primarily incels and manosphere types, are rapidly being removed from the gene pool.

Women who don't like the idea of men sending their junk to them don't realize just how many women online do like it. Many women online want to see photos or ask men to masturbate on cam so they can watch. So some guys can be led to believe that all women probably would want to see that or at least won't be offended. Especially because the average guy wouldn't be offended by a woman sending them naked images, wether they were into the woman or not. At the end of the day it's not a case of men wanting one thing and women wanting another. I think there are 2 reasons.

Cuz somehow there is a notion that "bigger is better". So they show off hoping theirs is bigger and might get attention.
Second is that if a girl gets horny over the pic, it might be a quicker way into her bed. On the other hand if the girl isn't interested in it, then she might become less interesting for him.
