What is the thing behind calling names?

So I noticed that some guys who I am talking to/have spoken to call me by names and I was wondering what the thought is behind is. Examples are: loser, fat ass, stupid etc. Usually after a question or a flirty comment.

I don't know. Usually some guys on the internet are so hard up for love that they kiss up to anything that appears to be a woman. I wasn't aware that they insult ones that flirt with them.
