Let's say you're walking down the street with your girlfriend and a random guy walks up to your girlfriend and deliberately grabs a boob. If he continues to sexually harass your girlfriend even after giving him a warning, are you gonna beat the shit out of him to teach him a lesson?

That's why you grab the nearest thing you can use as a weapon for an equalizer. I carry a colapsable steel baton at all times when I leave my appartment. My next door neighber is a little old lady and she got thrown on the ground and had her leg broken by some son of a bitch that was having a lovers quarle with his boyfriend and when he couldn't get inside the appartment he took it out on her as she had just entered the building. There's also people with records in my building and some of the woman here are fleeing domestic abusers so violence is a very real risk I have to consider. Hell a few years ago someone I used to be friends with got jumped by two junkies that wanted to beat the shit out of someone. The only reason he got away was he had a machete and they bolted once her pulled it out. He was smart and kept it tucked into his coat so he could reach it even when they were beating him. As for why he carried a machete the same reason I'm carrying a baton.

You can get tactical batons for as little as 40 bucks before shipping online. The high-quality ones can cost a few hundred but for something to protect yourself in a drastic situation It will work perfectly fine It might not be useable after the first fight but for 40 bucks that's not a bad deal when someone is trying to hurt you.

here this is where I bought mine. They have a wide selection of all kinds of safety law enforcement and military gear. This is the one I bought and I think it was a little over 30 bucks with shipping. All you do is pull it out of your holster and give it a hard single shake. That will make it pop out and lock. It's not fancy but I haven't met anyone who wanted to be beaten with a steel stick. Word to the wise though once it locks it takes effort to close it again. Normally you have to give it a hard tap or two on something solid like the floor.

Everyone thinks they don't need to worry until the junkie with a knife shows up. Honestly I wish more woman went to self dance classes and carried weapons. There would be a lot less successful rapes as long as the woman knew what she was doing. Most rapists are just strong dudes with no fighting experience so if a woman is trained properly and armed, she is much, much safer. She doesn't need to win a fight either she just needs to know enough to escape and scream in public. Men who here a woman scream for help will imeadiately attract there attention even if they don't intervene and once there are witnesses the dude will flee because he doesn't want to go to jail. I've been in situations where people died because people weren't there in time to help them and It made me feel really powerless. I've started getting in shape and I'm going to take self-defense classes myself once I'm healthier.
