Men don’t actually take issue with women simply being over 30—it’s what they associate with it. Many feel overlooked when younger women chase more exciting men, only to be approached later for stability once those options fade. Others point to fertility concerns, pressure for quick commitments, or dating standards they see as unrealistic. Add in the fact that women today are often financially independent, which challenges men’s traditional role as providers, and you get a lot of frustration. The “hit the wall” talk is really shorthand for these resentments, not just age itself. Why would it bother women over 30 so much what men think of them?

Personally, I don’t blame these men at all. I’m at the butt end of the millennial generation, and I am far more content with being single. I don’t want marriage. I don’t want children. I know I would be unable to protect and provide. I’m an undesirable and I do not plan on changing that and thankfully no woman plans on changing that in me either. I believe this is how men should be. Keeping to themselves. Do what makes them happy. Work, play video games, watch sports, etc.

@Flower7, I know I would be unable to protect and provide for a woman because I’ve never been in a physical fight, and I don’t own weapons. I prefer to avoid situations where that would even be necessary. As for providing, I can barely manage that for myself and my cat right now. Between working retail, watching my autistic cousin for $ while my aunt and nana go out, and writing books, I simply don’t make enough to support anyone else — and honestly, I’m fine with that. I value independence and peace more than playing a role I’m not built for. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There is a very good reason for your statement, "females hit the wall at 30" and it's because men don't, and we keep improving after 30, so it's very acceptable for a much older man to go with a female under 30. Clearly men and women have ideals about how the opposite sex should react to their advances, and when those ideals do not materialise they vent on social media.

Men and women both hit the wall at a certain age, but it is much more of an issue for women since looks is about all they have as leverage in attracting men, especially if they want to have children. For women the wall can hit as early as 30, but for some it still hasn't hit at 60.
