There's nuance to this. Men and boys don't start out misogynists, they're groomed into it. It doesn't help that our society tends to favor a patriarchal stance on things, giving men favor. A lot of misogynists, however, get the way they are because of an insecurity they have yet to address. A large pool of them will seek content to gain comfort, validation, etc. They will find manosphere content and go down a pipeline of hatred and intolerance.

I think it's also important to highlight that a lot of the issue is systemic. We're slowly losing our 3rd spaces as the years pass, and men who struggled to connect are slowly losing healthy avenues to interact with their peers and unlearn their insecurity.

Really, the best thing we can do is be aware of the impact the patriarchy has on everyone. Yes, men who might be reading this. You suffer from it, too. The toxic standards that men impose on other men often make men who can't achieve those standards feel inferior. Try your best to connect with people you share interests with, and be mindful of how you conduct yourself.

There is a recognized link between social isolation, certain subcultures, and the development of misogynistic attitudes, but I don't think being nerdy has much to do with it.

i don't know why the focus on 'nerdy' men specifically but yeah all men that are isolated and alone AND are terminally online (i think this is the secret ingredient) tend to fall prey to misogynistic propaganda. It's because these men can't stand that women won't choose and fuck them over in their eyes 'bad boys' or just men more confident than they are. and rather than look inward and introspect as to why women are steering clear of them they just blame women. so this leads them to seek out content that reinforces their pain (yeah ill use the word pain here as ultimately these guys are suffering deep inside) and makes them feel heard. These content creators then direct that energy and anger into the far right and sometimes to violence- hence why you see all these mass shooters out there end up being in the far right.

So yeah i can agree with this if you dumped the 'nerdy' part and just referring to men who are like this in general.

Nerds typically have a unhealthy obsession with nerdy stuff to have no room for unhealthy obsession to be misogynistic. So I don't know about it been a problem with nerds more.
I think misogyny is entirely related to power and blame which can be done by anyone rather than lack of social interaction, if lack was true then why does India have such backwards traditions with the most amount of people who interact all the time.
Or why did it exist so deeply in 19s or anything before that for UK etc when everyone interacted daily without internet?

Lack of social interaction can lead anybody down a darker path... It depends on what they consume and how they handle said lack of it.. There are plenty of nerdy guys who become the opposite and put women on a pedestal.. In fact I would say that that's more likely than the opposite..
