The father doesn't like guys because the last guy that was with one of his daughters impregnated her then left. I have helped clean the yard and when they didn't have any dog food I gave them some wet dog food that my dog doesn't like.

Most likely, they will perceive you as very desperate and going a long way to get their daughter.

I am not sure whether your actions will be appreciated since they have in the back of their head that you are just interested in getting into her pants and probably leave her like her former boyfriend has done.

Buying stuff as a means of buttering up the family is probably not the right method to convince the parents that you are serious about their daughter (are you serious about her?).

It takes more than a new barbecue grill and some dog food. It takes time and conviction.
