Interested in an older guy — are these signs he might feel the same?

i’m interested in an older guy in one of my classes, and i’m trying to understand whether he might feel the same way or if i’m misinterpreting things. he’s on the shy side, and i’ve been trying to approach the situation with maturity and awareness of our age and academic differences, but some of his behavior has been confusing.

whenever we talk, our eye contact is very strong — like he’s completely focused on me. he also leans in when i speak and sometimes steps a little closer, which makes me feel like he’s genuinely engaged. i’ve caught him glancing at me a few times when he thinks i’m not looking.

in class, he tends to sit where he has a clear view of me, even if it’s not his usual spot. it’s subtle, but noticeable.

a few moments stood out:
• i went to see a performance he was part of, and he looked genuinely flustered when he realized i was there. after the show, i told him, “and you said i probably wouldn’t like your band,” and he was definitely caught off guard.
• when i presented in class, he paid close attention and even took notes, which he doesn’t normally do.

• i also asked him if he had a car, and he immediately asked why. when i explained that i needed help moving dorms, he said, “no, but if i did, i definitely would’ve helped you,” and he sounded genuinely sincere.

i’m trying to stay respectful, friendly, and aware of the age and undergrad–grad dynamic, but i’m not sure how to read his behavior.

do these seem like signs he might also be interested, or are they just neutral interactions?
