Can a girl help a guy out of depression or does it have to be a guy who helps?

Can a girl be there for a guy to listen when he needs it or to call when he needs it. Can she help encourage him, or does it have to be a guy who helps a other guy out of depression?

Doesn't mean anything to a guy when a girl tries to help him or be there for him

Of course , a girl can be there for him but it's better if she is just quiet and listens and learns first

Weather, he knows it or not. My belief is he is

Depressed for a reason.
Weather, it be by something he did. Or somebody did to him

In their mind, they don't have the ability to either be accountable.\nOr to let it go

That I know that has depression or a form of depression. This is the case and the longer that they allow themselves to feel , the way they do , the deeper than depression goes , no matter what happens in life , you have to stand back up , you have to go forward

You have to be honest with yourself and set accountability and admit that you were either wrong or if the other person was, you have to let it go, forgive them and let it go. There's nothing in the world that's going to change it , except for the person that is depressed

If you are in a relationship with this guy, you either have to be bold and except that what you say will be taken wrong or taken right, but they don't want to hear it because they don't want to accept it. And then that's when the problems will start between you and that person

I have a couple friends or people that I have meant that depressed, they're on medicine or what have you? And I'm pretty bold and open person when I see something that is not right or I feel is not right just because of everything else going on at the same time. I will say something Because I feel that they're destroyed their lives and just because I think that way doesn't mean that i'm right

But there has been 2 people that I have talked to
And I told them what I see would I feel and of course , there was denial , and I was an a**hole
And I accepted that through one ear and out the other

And they didn't understand why I would come around and make them get up and go do things with me and I wouldn't even talk to them about it but just getting then ip and out if there head would help them start living again

it is not that simple...

it's a very complex and convoluted situation and there's a whole lot of factors involved as well, also... every person might be different and so are their cases

sometimes it can help some or it can help a lot, and other times not even the whole world might be able to make any difference and nothing will help

personally, I do think it's a really bad idea to make yourself responsible for the personal issues of others and it should not be to us, whether or not others make it out of such a bad place, we can be there sure, we can help as much as possible (also properly) but again... the outcome does not depend on one alone, and that's not the healthiest nor the most helpful way to address these situations either

I believe that they want people who they feel they can trust to help them. It could be either gender.

They will most likely confide with someone they know wouldn't hurt them but help them.

If someone is very depressed, then they really need to see professionals to help them. Get on one of the newer antidepressants, talk with only a GOOD therapist. There are a lot of therapists who don't have a clue about what their patients are experiencing.

If you are a woman trying to help a guy, try not to mother him because that's easy to slip into that behavior. Be his friend. That's different behavior.

Depression isn’t always helped by others. It can be, a support system is very important to ward off the worst of the symptoms, but it’s not a cure.

I think it's best for a depressed person to have community and volunteer with people less fortunate than them. Amazing how helping others worse off can help you feel better about your situation and bring a mirror to your own problems.

They have deep-rooted issues that can't be fixed overnight and they need to find ways to deep with those causes, rather than just do a patch job on it with sex, alcohol, or other forms of 'self care' to avoid the issue.

Only a depressed person can make themselves no longer depressed. As a victim of chronic depression myself, the only way to get rid of your depression is to act on your problems especially the ones you put at the back of your mind. Depression should never be medicated.

Therapists never tell you this because if they fixed your issues they wouldn't make money anymore because all their patients would be fixed forever.

Yes a girl can but be careful of boundaries. There is a big difference in guiding someone, vs leading...

Be the guide. He has to be the leader... be careful he does it for himself not for you. Otherwise your help could hurt him more
