I would like some tips on how I can best help a girl who is struggling with these things? I have been writing her snail mail and she really enjoys it. I am a very uplifting and positive person so I have an idea what she is going through but I know these things are not like switching a light bulb.
First be sure, that depression and anxieties is not part of your weakness and that your joy and happiness is somewhat immortal because if you walk down that road, and your own joy or happiness is dwindling, you will need someone else to save you too.
Then, treat her without her knowing. Feed her your joy and drive without her knowing. And most importantly, pray for her.

Be there for her constantly. I know because I’ve suffered through depression and have had suicidal thoughts. What really lifted me up was talking to the girl I loved. So be there for her.
Encouraging her to get a therapist and sometimes just knowing that you will being there for her might cheer her up

I think just be there for her through action. Don’t give her any doubts about how much you care about her.
As someone with mental health problems, your girlfriend is very lucky to have you.Do not try to solve her problems for her, just listen.
Keep her company and let her know that you’ll be there if she needs someone, also listen. Do the things she likes together. I struggle with mental health too and sometimes I really just want someone with me.
Get her on meds and therapy.
Encourage her to get professional help
