A gal asked if I was into a (single, M58/59) guy friend who was doting on both of us today when we stopped into his shop. She says we're giving off "hubby-wifey vibes."
That made me laugh. I admit he's a very nice guy -- and a real "catch" -- but I'm just comfortable around him and his kids, who I've known for ~20 years now; a very sweet little family.
- He'll always smile broadly, walk in as if he's never seen me before and do a flirty "skit" like "What's your name? I saw you from across the room and had to say hello."
- He'll offer us food or beverages he and his team are testing out.
- We'll joke around in a subtle way, but he does the same with many women (tbh, with much "hotter" women than me), though, so I took our interactions seriously.
- I'll ask after him and worry about his kids a little when they're stressed even though they're all grown.
- I'll share small recipes I've tried out with him and be a little comfortable with my humor and expressions around him, but I'd be the same with any friend I've known for so long.
- I'll let my guard down around him -- which is rare -- and he's actually pretty protective bc he sees that.
I'm not sure that's what the "hubby-wifey vibe" is... but it's not the first time I've heard this comment about the way a guy and I interact.
