What does a soul mate mean to both men and women?

The reason why I'm asking this question is because I wanted to know the meaning of the words soul mate and please no inappropriate opinions and please appropriate opinions

Here are two sides to it, and i tend to agree with the 2nd: What soulmate means to some people in their definition is effortless comfort in a relationship. To other people it means unexplained attraction despite friction and them pulling you out of your comfort zone. It's a bit conplicated by karma, and all this is for another discussion.

Now, i think the word contradicts itself, the soul is treated by users of this word as what is actually the "I" of the spirit. But the soul is in reality the bridge that connects the spirit to the body and provides space for the "I" to have feelings.

The use of the word "soulmate" reflects this confusion of soul and spirit. And the confusion of the two reflects the underdevelopment of the spirit.

With a weak spirit, people view love instead of as an act of willingly giving immaterial gifts from the heart, rather as the heart reflexively doing whatever is most euphoric with least effort. Which always ends in exhaustion, because it burns love for fuel. Forget the cringe "neurotransmitter sensitivity" talk. Like stimulation of the nervous system simply cannot be possible without catabolism, so desire, while it has it's own place, needs fuel.

By confusing "channeling love" with an act of burning love as a finite resource without replenishing it, we have essentially a doom timer within every single relationship that person will ever start. Until the spirit is involved, that is, that's when people start sacrificing comfort to genuinely help others without expecting anything, absolutely anything in return. Doing this actually generates new love, that you can feel without taking it from others, and then burn it as you wish. Which doesn't mean becoming churchy or anything. It's just that soul-love is finite, a portion of the soul even is as temporary as the body and has a gender. Spirit-love is infinite and eternal, but takes effort.

Don't get it wrong: it is not literal physical catabolism that can be reversed with anabolic drugs. Have you ever felt like your body is too lazy to get up and do something, despite sleeping well, eating well, being hydrated, being socially satisfied? And yes, even a few tabs of anavar don't help (just to rule out physical catabolism.) That's the absence of will. The will is not thoughts and not feelings and not motivation and not bodily chemicals and not knowledge. Will is the creative (as in "anabolic", not necessarily creative in an artistic sense) drawing of future into now. If you need a partner in order to feel love then you probably can't will love into existence. Thus "soulmates" in a pop culture sense is a shitty fairy tale. Of course we have special relationships with those from previous incarnations, and they're usually inverted for karma (hate who we loved and love who we hated.)

Interestingly, polls consistently show that men are often more likely to believe in soulmates than women. While women are often seen as the "romantic" ones, men are frequently more "destiny-oriented" once they find someone they click with.
