If a married man at work is overall very nice to a woman and his not looking for a wife does it mean he is just trying to be a friendly guy?

There is this guy married and over all very nice to me and always communicates with me at work but he won’t like hit on or flirt completely he just super nice but the thing is I’m not here to make any friends with opposite gender I will be nice and respectful and greet but that’s all I will make same gender friends bc I had a situation where a married man led me on and I didn’t ask for it and it ended up bad one time so this guy is like trying to be a friend to me but I don’t want this kinda attention would it be alright if maybe I just respectfully tell him hey listen I understand you are a nice friendly guy but I’m not looking to make any friends so we can just leave it as work associates?

Healthy boundaries are a thing, it’s more than alright communicate whenever you don’t feel comfortable especially in work environments because that could affect your performance at work and within teams. If you have a safe person at work to talk about this I’d do that too just to have an “ally” close by. What’s worrying me more is the backstory you mentioned with the other man, be sure to visit a mental health professional if it gives you trouble just to be on the safe side because it seems to be really present here.
