Does my crush actually want to hang out or is he just being nice?

I visited my crush at his job today and I forgot how it was brought up but I said, “You never visit me.” He responded by apologizing and saying, “We should hang out sometime. I’ll text you.” Do you think he means it or was he just being nice because I brought it to his attention?

To me, that sentence is typical of someone that forgot to follow up on his crush. Although we don't know if that crush of yours is reciprocated or not. If it were, then he would probably have answered differently, so I presume that this crush is non reciprocated.

Also, the fact that he states that he will text you tells me that he is not really very enthusiastic about meeting you sometime. I would not place much hope on this ever happening. If you don't take the initiative, I believe that nothing will happen in the near future.

So, my opinion is that he was simply nice.
