Why does he act like this with me?

My M coworker, always jokes around with me at work. He will mock me, copy my voice or what I say, he will tease me about my interests. He also will come up from behind me and poke my shoulder and walk away or he will come up behind me and pull my hair or kick my leg. When I’m on lunch in my car, he will come up to my window and knock and start laughing. Is this lowkey flirting? My coworkers think so. The problem is, he has a girlfriend. I do like him though is the thing.

This guy isn’t flirting, if anything he’s picking at you has become some childish joke/pass time for him since I’m sure you’re all giggly and “annoyed” when he does any of it. I’m sure those bird brained coworkers do nothing to help the delusions and instead stir the pot, create all this gossip out of boredom (since it’s most likely that anything interesting hardly ever happens), and you just go right along with it since you have a crush.


Simply put — you all need to grow up, and you personally should get a grip, because what would you do with this feedback? He’s already taken, or has that just become an afterthought at this point? You can’t act like you’re above respecting that boundary anymore when you post questions like this, or allow your coworkers to fuel the fire rather than shut it down each time they bring it up, and move on to a new topic.

Not necessarily. Believe it or not at one time men used to joke around more at work, but because of how things have changed over the years it’s not the same. I have a female co-worker who I kind of do the same w. But that’s cause she’s cool. I don’t have to worry about her running to the supervisor’s office accusing me of something. People these days, especially women would not feel comfortable if you tapped them on the shoulder. Could be grounds for sexual harassment. It’s just hard to meet women these days who are fun, who can joke around. I don’t mean joke around as in tell her sexual jokes or things like that. But yes men these days don’t want to be accused of something so when something like this comes up women are confused. Could it be possible he likes you? Yes there’s a chance, but not always in that way.

Of course you like him. He sounds like a toddler. Pulling your hair and kicking your leg? Age 25-30? Seriously? Sounds like a great catch🙄.

His girlfriend is just an afterthought at this point. It’s funner to feed into a delusion with the other bored coworkers, who likely have nothing more interesting to talk about. I hate work environments like that, nothing but drama and gossip.

Sounds like you two are still in 9th grade. Good luck with that in the workplace. Although if you work at McDonald's it's probably OK.
