I met at camp and I was a loner and very quiet. no one talked to me… we sat at the same table with other people but I don't know when it started but he started paying attention to me… I told a story and he was the only one that that listened and pulled up a chair front seat.. then he complimented me and said I looked pretty in my Aeropostale shirt, he had a twin sister who sat next to me and talked to me and asked questions, and I never knew our mom’s exchanged numbers to car pool his mom asked my mother

he mentioned doing something to his wife and kept looking at me

his mother noticed me and I was known for not smiling and she told me to smile

I don’t know what he saw I was so pathetic and unsmart…

he’s the only guy who was ever kind to me and made me feel seen.

Life went on ofc he followed a couple of my cousins but never me and I believe he got my number but never reached out so I never really thought about him.

I ended up moving out of state for college and he moved to the same city. He moved to a different city and I ended up moving there for a job offer.

he's married and has a wife and he seems like a good dad and husband.. I did reach out to congratulate him and he left it on read so I moved on

I think he was a nice guy being nice to you.

He might have been similar to you earlier in his life, and he recognised you needed a bit of help to bring you out of your shyness.

I'm sure he did want to be your friend, perhaps he misjudged how shy you was, and thought you didn't want to be friends.

I don't think it matters whether we are male or female, we need to show people we are friendly.

Some guys lack confidence and if a female is unwilling to show friendliness for what ever reason it doesn't lead to a positive outcome for both sexes.

I don’t know if it was instinct, respect for his wife or both, but it’s for the best that he didn’t respond to your message. Look how you’re acting. Yes, this MARRIED man chose not to engage in PRIVATE conversation with some woman hasn’t spoken to in a decade, who he basically does not know. That does NOT mean he thinks he’s above you, it means he respects his relationship and his wife.

There is nothing even moderately important about the conversation you were trying to have or the questions you were trying to ask. You don’t need to thank him for his kindness, you don’t need to ask why he was so nice, you don’t need to ask anything about his life or his wife, you don’t need to ask anything else. People are entitled to boundaries and they aren’t jackasses for not letting you cross them. It’s wildly inappropriate for you to even be upset, hurt or bothered by this STRANGER to the extent that you’ve now obsessed over this for a year. Do you realize it’s been that long now? A year!
