Why does my crush put himself down and call himself a loser?

I recently noticed that my crush puts himself down a lot. He’s insinuated that he finds himself physically unattractive. Also, the last time I talked to him, he blatantly called himself a loser. Why does he do this?

Poor self-esteem, probably from growing up in an abusive or neglectful home. I suffered from this through my 20's and early 30's until I saw a wonderful therapist. Poor self-esteem may prevent him from reaching his potential, or not. I've known some highly accomplished people who suffered from poor self-esteem. Do you want to date him? Ask him. It could be good for both of you.

In his eyes he thinks he is the unluckiest guy in the world and nothing right happen in his life

He does not like him or has low value for himself

I think he will value himself once he find out who is he.. tell him to go to gym and find purpose of life and make him realise how luckly he is by showing worst unluckiest people

I’m glad you don’t experience self-esteem issues to the point that someone else experiencing then is so completely alien to you that you can’t fathom it

Growing up bullied for countless things, I’ve had my fair share of self-esteem issues. I still have insecurities, I just don’t openly tell others about them out of the blue.

He probably just has some self esteem issues. I had some when I was younger too, but I've mostly grow out of them.
