Can a guy like you but still underestimate and not value you?

I've often heard things like guys don't really care about credentials etc.

But like I don't know I feel this one guy I sometimes thinks he underestimates me.

Like he acts like a guy who likes me but also one who isn't really trying to get to know me. So that confuses me.

Since the dawn of our species, men have been born stronger, faster, and typically (not always) smarter.

Women can give birth. And have an affinity for observation and pattern alignment. And are exceedingly more fragile for being strong.

It was not even that long ago that women did not even have the same writes as a man. Im glad that has changed because it benefits our society a lot but its inbuilt nature to assume you are going to be better, as a male.

There's a very large portion of society that understands how important and skilled women can be, and there's a much smaller portion who understand that concept and are still abit oonga boonga to learn they are not the best

I don't think men are better they're given more opportunities.

Like ti reminds me of something that happens all the time in the workforce -a. woman has to be REALLY good in order to prove herself but a guy can get away with being mediocre and no one says anything.

I feel like it’s important to remember when you’re pursuing someone that just because you’re sure of your own feelings and know you’re ready/willing to date, does not mean that’ll be the case for the person your crushing on. This could be a thing where he may enjoy flirting with you but there’s no intention behind it, it’s more out of convenience when you’re at school, work or whatever environment you’re seeing him at. If it’s work it could be simple as not wanting to pursue things with a coworker even if you’re work place allows it, or you don’t encounter him much during your shifts. In any case, only he could tell you with validity, but I’m guessing that’s a route you don’t wanna take for whatever reason. All we can do is speculate here.

Does he look interested in becoming your friend? What if he is shy to ask? Or is it he notices something about you that he might try help you improve? Why don't you try to have a conversation with him and figure it out?

Because when i try to talk to him, I don't know he shuts down. And I can't tell if it's because he just shuts down around me or there's something more to it in terms of he doesn't want to get to know me.

Maybe he is just shy, and you make him nervous. Once he gets used to you, I'm sure he would normalize.
