Does this guy from school actually like me or is he just teasing?

ok im really confused about this so im a highschooler and I've known this guy (we’ll call him S) and I've known him since middle school and he always used to tease me for 7th and 8th grade nonstop especially bc later on we found out we had the samw private tutor (who only tutors like 10 people) and in 9th grade he like stopped ig its bc we didn't have classes tg. then in 10th grade (present) he rarely talks to me but he gets close to me, often times i catch him staring and he looks away fast. but like two months ago we were in lunch and he would gesture his friend to look at me I don't know why maybe its cuz they wanted to see if i was looking at him, and when i presented once he would smile at me and at the end when the teacher asked me a question i stuttered and he laughed. and here is the thing a couple days ago i left the classroom to do smt and this guy goes with his friend to our table (me and my friends table) and he just smiles but when im there he doesn't even go near my table. and also couple days ago when i walked past him he did triple looks + smiling at me? and when i went up to the teacher (he was there too on his desk) he would look back at me so much times and my friend was with me too and he didn't look once at her. but im just confused if he's testing me to see if i like him or just likes me, pls help, i appreciate u

If you want a solid answer then you should really consider mustering up the courage to ask him yourself (if that’s a fear of yours). I say this because only he can tell you with validity whether or not he likes you, and all we can do is speculate here. What we say can either give you some positive reinforcement so that you feel confident enough to approach, or fill you with more confusion/doubt than you had before and leave you discouraged, but in either case you won’t feel satisfied in any fundamental way.


There could be any number or things going on, be it flirting or you two just being hyper-aware of each other, only he could fill in those blanks. However we do have one fact to work with, which is that if he is interested then for whatever reason he is choosing not to act on it. Same goes for you since you can also approach first. So I wouldn’t keep giving him attention, because it feels pointless when no action will follow.

here's the thing, when i try making a move he just gets avoidant so thats why im asking people’s opinion on if he likes me rather than just overthinking

The thing is, even if he does like you, he isn’t doing anything about it. A person’s greatest concern when it comes to whether or not they should make a move, is whether or not that person will mutually be into them. I don’t know what you do when you’re making a move, but if you are trying to show signs of interest then you’re basically taking out one of the hardest obstacles for him which is knowing whether or not the person likes you. All he would have to do is his part and ask for your number or social media, but he won’t do it. For whatever his reasons may be — he won’t do it. So now if I were you, I would just stop giving him too much attention, period, and friend zone him. I also think it’s safer to say that a guy who likes you isn’t going to avoid you when you’re trying to open up the door for him. He could ultimately just be an immature guy enjoying the little flirty dynamic but having no intent of acting on it, and you’re better than being part of that.

if I had to guess I'd say 70/30 he likes you, but you can't be sure until you ask him yourself. Asking someone out is hard but you're not really gonna be able to date if you can't muster up the strength to ask someone out. Half the point of high school is being slightly less awkward with the opposite sex

I think he may like you and by teasing you is just his way of trying to engage. But he needs to be a bit more mature about it. It is ok to tell him to chill out or maybe ask him out and see what he says?

well the last time he talked to me he was like smiling at me but it was like the dumbest excuse (like my charger) and there are chargers in a chromecart but he kept the convo going like this: “can i use your charger” me: “yea sure take it” him: “is it type c” me: “no” but he was smiling at me the whole time but that was like a month ago
