I'll try keep short. But I've been teaching a guy piano. He is 21 I'm 26. He shows interest in me and he's been asking me more about myself and remembers details like the fact I'm looking for a car etc. he's asked about that like three times...
Anyway he didn't come into a lesson one week and didn't text or anything which was weird and a bit disrespectful.. but when he came back he said he couldn't remember his excuse for last week. So he missed my class and a different class he had for theory with someone else. He also wants to get a job at this music school which is seeming less likely. But anyway he came across as flakey which was so disappointing as we have been building a connection. But I've had to keep it professional and wait for lessons to end.
My instinct was to start to pull back but he is seeming to still be interested. As I said it's all been kept professional and we don't text outside of lessons. I just wonder if his flakiness means he's not that interested or serious and is too young.

What Guys Said
He was disrespectful. He also sounds flaky if he can't remember his excuse for missing the lesson. I think all you can do is keep teaching him and see what happens, but I would think if he was interested in you he would have made some effort to communicate with you.
That's what confused me.. he showed interest it was going well. He had exams but he still could have explained. And saying he forgot his excuse was even worse.
The part about forgetting his excuse is very weird. He could have at least dreamt one up.
Yeah makes it even less clear and if anything I'm more suspicious. But it made me instinctually just pull away from him as I think it shows he may not be that into me or not in a place for pursuing something
I think that was wise. You don't want to be wasting your time on someone that doesn't feel the same way.
Well. He has a girlfriend. He did lead me on though. He was quite flirty but never mentioned his girlfriend of course... So you were right.
That I was wasting time oops... Oh well
That is too bad that he did that to you. Is he going to continue to take lessons from you?
I'm pretty sure she is recent girlfriend but he was still being a bit flirty with me so I was confused. Says a lot about his character I guess..
We have two or three lessons left so unfortunately I have to see him again.
But thankfully we will be done then for good.
It was just before he went on a holiday with her. He stayed overtime in my class which he always does. He was asking me more questions about myself showing personal interest. The vibe was quite playful I'd say. And yet, he has a girlfriend. It really confused me.
He may just be a player and having fun with women behind his girlfriend's back. At least you found out about her before he tried to do more with you than just flirt.
Yes he could be. She seems to be a fairly new girlfriend. He is only 21 but still.. it confused me as he always stayed longer and was asking me more questions about myself. I do feel led on by him. I'm glad I found out though
All the best to you going forward.
Stop making excuses for chads. Ghosting is nr1 sign of a low quality weak-minded/selfish person. No matter the gender.
Yeah true. It's such a shame cos was getting to know him and was going so well then boom just sudden ghosting and no excuse.
And now you got to know the real him. Stop idolizing fictional image of him. What you saw and liked wasn't the real him. That version of him doesn't exist.
He might be in love or maybe it is drugs.
In love... With someone else? That s why he flaked on me?
