Men, is finding a woman with so much in common a turn on or not?

Is that important? Is that a turn on? For example

For example.. I was distracted and quite sad after an ex made me feel like I was the gum at the bottom of his shoe… this guy I met at a store was nice. I didn’t pay much attention to him but I did notice how kind he was.

But he asked me what brought me here to this city and I told him I was an art teacher here for 2 years but now I’m pursuing nursing.. he said same.. He talked about his 180… he is also an self taught creative.. I actually had a degree in psychology and was a self taught artist who oil paints and draws… he’s a self taught cinematography who actually was self taught and majored in film production but is now pursuing aviation.. I told him that I actually went to an aerospace high school and learned to fly planes (Cessna 172) and learned about turbine engines and did like plane parts (rivets)

I won't get sexually aroused just because someone else is into the stuff I am into as well, lol

but maybe you mean it as if a "turn on" is just a peak on interest and intrigue so, about that... sure, there might be an interest/intrigue peak... but it is not as important as to say it makes things much more better because in my case, I will be as interested and intrigued by things they are into even if I am not

I met my wife at the beach where I vacationed my whole life and she did too. She lived in the next town. She worked at the local cinema where I had gone to many times. One night I was getting popcorn and two guys started fighting. The next thing I know everyone is pushing and shoving and the manager is trying to kick out the two guys fighting. My wife was working behind the candy counter and remembered the fight. We knew a lot of the same people and went to the same events.
The real show stopper was this; one day after we had been seeing each other for about a month she says that she has to tell me something. It did not sound good. She tells me that she was engaged to somebody else that she met at school that lived in Alaska. She just broke up with him a couple of months ago. I thought that she was having some sport with me because I was engaged to somebody i met at school that lived in Oklashoma and I just broke up with her a couple of months ago.

That’s the ideal, finding someone you can instantly click with over shared passions and interests, where the conversation flows naturally and being around each other just feels easy. It's truly an amazing feeling.

I would say yes, but i don't think you fully understand dating for men. Women get to choose men. Men get to choose from the group of women they're RELEGATED to.

So it's not that men do not want commonalities with women. We just know most of the time we are not afforded that luxury. Most of the time the option is between choosing a woman that you may not have a lot in common with, or simply not dating.

So yes, it's a turn on. But we also know must of the time it's like eyeing a pie you're never going to get your fork into.😆 That was probably a terrible analogy

It’s wise to find someone that has a lot in common with you , especially in a relationship mainly because you both will enjoy a lot of the same things instead of tagging along to just appease your partner. When I am in a relationship with a girl that has a lot in common with me , the relationship lasts a lot longer than a relationship that doesn’t have much in common

A woman with whom I have a lot in common will always better than the alternative. But the sorts of things you have in common with him are not necessarily what will make you compatible.

That’s very true… he was just an example but I think I’m still trying to figure out what makes me compatible with a guy especially when I’m a nobody, loner, depressed lol

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. I do think having those sorts of things in common is always a plus. In the early stages of a relationship they make it more fun because you have a lot to talk about.

Keep in mind that being a "nobody" isn't something most men care about. Women do, but men not so much. And the best cure for depression might be falling in love.

Don't sell yourself short. You sound like a very interesting person.
