Guys, What does it mean when a guy says "you're amazing" with the raised eyebrows and the big goofy look?

I've heard this a few times from guys who have interacted with me... but when I chuckle and ask what they mean they just answer "you just are" ... which tells me nothing, really. I'm just doing normal things in my opinion. One guy this week said it and added "you're very much like my wife" and I know they both love me, so I tried asking. He said it was a combination of things, but it wasn't very clear to me. I didn't want to press him about it too much bc it's immodest in my opinion.

What do you guys think of when you call a woman "amazing"?

The older I get, the more it takes to impress me. So if he gives you the"amazing" complete just take it.

It's too general to try to interpret. It could mean that he feels lust for you, it could mean that he loves your sweet voice, that he loves your intelligence, or your gentle manner.

Just a general compliment, don't overthink it. It's not one I carry in my bag, it's too vague which is unfair to the recipient.

Obvi it sounds flattering, but it comes from guys who tend not to say much at all. I was just curious.

It's because they want to say something positive without any substance behind it. Probably just couldn't articulate it in the moment.

Hmm. So... an empty comment? Why not say "She's great" or something less... flashy?

Nah. The last guy who said it was married and gave me the very high compliment of saying I was very similar to his wife in terms of my character etc. (though that's a stretch in my opinion be SHE really IS amazing).

I don't think that at all. In that particular guy's case, though, he has a REALLY stellar gal. Other people who have said it are at least single. I was just curious what they're trying to express, or if it's just something to say.
