I'm 68, recently widowed.
When my wife passed, I thought that I was ready to go on the prowl.
Illness has hit me pretty hard in recent months.
I'd love to enjoy the company of a lady.
The concept of the 'manosphere' has nothing to do with my current reticence to approach women.

I do somewhat understand that of which you speak for many men.
It seems to me to be a product of our present social climate.

I think that COVID made a major shift in social norms, along with the prevalence of smartphones and online gaming.

There's no longer the face to face social contact of bygone days.

Yeah I stopped approaching them a long time ago. But they started approaching me for some reason. When I was interested in having a relationship they would laugh at me. Now I don't and they want a relationship with me. It makes no sense to me.

Nothing the manosphere says is true, and that's true of the white manosphere and the much smaller Black manosphere. It's all rooted in sexual and racial insecurity, and in the case of white guys, we all know exactly where the insecurities and the resentments come from. They still approach even they say they don. t But if they get the idea we have been with Blacks, then they know the reason why we have been with. them, and they know they can't compete. Some will still approach anyway, but really it's as much a lost cause as the South after the civil war.

Guys will still approach but only if the gal seems like safe space OR they're drunk/high enough to have the courage to approach. Today guys expect women to do all the heavy lifting and tbh I find it deplorably unattractive.

Yes I stopped approaching.

My reason is getting pussy made me somewhat complacent. Also I know what my options are at my current character level, not just because money, but holistically.

Sometimes I approach women on good days just to gauge the cultural temperature. Or just walk around smiling, make eye contact, sometimes saying nothing or a greeting.

Reactions vary.

But right now I'm getting the feeling I need to upgrade and level up before I start selling romance again. Not just in money & looks.

Yep, 59 now, and just date very casually. I stopped really initiating years ago before the term "manosphere" was coined.

Why? It became more of a headache dealing with constant drama. Personally, there is nothing to gain but companionship and I get that with my friend group.

For the most part. I find the best relationships require a woman that puts in effort. A woman that relies on subtle hints doesn't understand men, or doesn't have enough desire for me. I'd rather deal with women who find me attractive enough to make a move.

Don’t need to been married for 20 years. But as far as helping women, things like that in public, no. She’s got two arms, two legs just like me. I don’t agree w everything the manosphere says, but there are a lot of things I do. Before you were basically just told to shut up, accept it, you’re a man, that’s how it goes only for men to get screwed over in a lot of ways.

Yes. But not because of anything the man-o-sphere says. I learned some time ago that, "if a woman really wants you she WILL approach you". And the vast majority of time approaching a woman was just an idea she put in your head for her own enjoyment.

Really when you think about it there is no reason for a man to approach a woman other than he simply wants to. She knows who she likes and who she doesn't.👍💯

I'll approach but in the atmosphere of pointing fingers at men for bad behavior it makes sense why men don't want to approach, because of fear of being falsely accused.
