Why would a guy be attracted to a housekeeper at his mom’s nursing home?

Be honest—why would a guy seem interested in or drawn to a housekeeper who works at the nursing home where his mom is staying? Whenever he sees me from across the building, he’ll turn around just to wave at me. He’s complimented my shoes before, and we’ve had a short conversation about them. He seems a little older, maybe late 30s or early 40s, while I’m in my late 20s.

His dad, on the other hand, can be a pain in the ass. He’s very difficult to please and has gotten on the nerves of several staff members, including me. One time, he thought I had sprayed something on his wife’s banana and asked me if I did it. I was confused and said, “Why would I spray her banana?” because I wasn’t even near it.

I’m trying to learn to have more empathy for people who display difficult behavior, though. I didn’t really think about how hard it must be for him to see his wife living in a nursing home. Maybe some of his behavior comes from feeling helpless and needing to have some sense of control over what’s happening around her.

I feel like he (the son) could be a mamas boy or have low self esteem idk… maybe he’s a red flag or a loser
