Why do guys say they like women without any makeup, then actually see what women look like without it and are disappointed by the reality?

This is a good question that I can't answer. I had a girlfriend for a while that looked, when I first met her, absolutely stunningly beautiful. This was to the point that people thought she was a fashion model, which she actually was part-time, and I was intimidated by her. Luckily, that didn't stop us from getting together for quite some time. There came a point when we wanted to take a vacation, so we first went to Hawaii and then to Fiji. We did some diving in Fiji, and that was the first time I had ever seen her without makeup, and since makeup and seawater seem not to get along too well It was a bit shocking. Instead of looking her age, which was about 25 at that time, she looked like she was 12 years old, and it was a little bit disturbing. I got over it. What I liked about her was only her looks, secondarily. What I really liked about her was her personality, and that didn't change at all. As time went on, she would sometimes wear makeup when we were going out and not bother wearing it when we were staying at home. I realized that the makeup was not a big deal after all. Since then, when I meet women, the only thing that really is a bit of a turnoff is too much makeup. No makeup is just fine.

That's actually a good question. Most women I have met and felt an attraction toward, were not wearing much makeup. I'm young, like you, so I always thought women wearing a lot of makeup were definitely hiding their overall looks. I guess I never fell into that category you're asking about. I'm different lol when I've asked the "plain Jane" girl out and I would pick her up for dinner and she was all "dolled" up. Damn! I'll never be that guy that says a woman is less attractive wearing makeup. it's special when she takes the time. Just like my wife can't keep her hands off me when I dress for a formal occasion.

Sometimes makeup enhances what you've got, other times it blots it out. I think what they're saying is they like women to not wear too much of it. And they can't tell what you look like without it if they've met you WITH it and seen the enhanced model...

Because a lot of guys have a misconception about what a natural look actually is. Some of them think a “no makeup look” is natural and barefaced. The same goes for fillers and cosmetic procedures lol

Guys don't know the difference between no makeup and natural makeup.

If there is such a thing as natural makeup then showering counts as makeup too because there are soap particles on your face for the rest of the day. Then that means most men and women wear make up?

So let's not count it as makeup if someone can't tell that you have it. You can consider "concealing scars" as no makeup because it sole purpose is to hide things and make the face look more natural (less scarred) while what we call "using make up" is adding things to the face that purposely make it look less natural.

my late hardly ever wore makeup she was just as beautiful without it as withit
