Do inexperienced men in their 20s and 30s really fear intimacy?

If they are inexperienced then they need to find a way out of it. They can't stay inexperienced for ever. It's going to have to take some effort on their own and learn how to grow up!!

I agree with you and think shyness is used as an excuse for inaction from lack of interest on their part.

I don't think men fear intimacy as much as they fear giving up their freedom. Even if that freedom doesn't make them happy. Commitment is change, limiting in theory, and hard to undo. People generally fear change.
